I like buttons. I have a big jar full of them, some big, some small. Some are fairly new but most are old. I bought them from a quilt store a long time ago. I have always liked buttons. When I was little and my Mom or Grandma would make me clothes, they would had to have two things, pockets (to put things in) and buttons. When I need to replace one on a shirt or if I get adventurous and sew then I get my jar out and look through them for the perfect one(s) for my need.
Those buttons in my jar are pretty and neat to look at but they aren't useful by themselves in that jar, they have to be put with some thing in order to get the job completed.
People are alot like those buttons, on our own we can look pretty and have a use but we were made to work together with others. To belong together for a common purpose. We were not designed to be alone. I'm not talking about having a mate, or being married, although those are wonderful. I'm talking about being with like minded people. Acts 2:44, "All the believers were together and had everything in common." The Message Bible put it this way, "You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another," (Prov. 27:17) It isn't good to be alone, we need others in our lives to help us, and to help each other. Someone we can reach out to in the good or the bad. Rom. 12:15 states it this way, "Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep."
The point is we all need each other to be a "complete set" Don't go it alone. Don't be afraid to reach out there is someone who needs you as much as you need them
My prayer today is that we all do not forsake the assembling of one another.
Thanks you for taking a moment of your time to be with me today.
Have a great ride and make it count!
