My dog Zyphr

This is my Rottweiler puppy Zyphr.  She is 8 months old and she is beautiful, and sweet and playful and has the strongest bite of any other breed of dog out there. She follows our other dog, Paris around all over the place (she is a Great Dane, you'll meet her later). We have trained our dogs to go outside do their business, Paris "knocks" on the door and they come back in. Potty training Zyphie was very easy because she does follow Paris. But Zyphr also likes to chase joggers and gets in the street sometimes, she is after all still a puppy. Knowing these things I usually will put her on her rope and let her do her business that way, while Paris goes and does hers and then bring her back in with Paris.  But sometimes I get busy or lazy or just don't want to be bothered with it and let her go out on her own.
Tonight was one of those nights. So we let the dogs go outside and when they came back in Zypher wasn't with Paris, which does happen sometimes, but we just yell for her and she comes running around the corner of the house and comes happily on in, not tonight. We waited a few minutes and Ariel yelled for her again and nothing.  We waited for a bit and Tab (my wonderful)  went outside and yelled and clapped for her, no Zyphr.  Now this isn't like her at all.  Tab went to go give our youngest, Sarah, a bath (she just loves them) and I decided to go yell again and if she didn't come this time I would go look for her.  I opened the door and there is my sweet baby girl Zyphie, kinda wagging her tail, and whining. I let her in and she lays down in front of a chair and I notice that her belly is bright red and wet looking so I turn on the overhead light and then I see a better picture, she has scrapes on both back legs and her stomach is raw and a little bloody. I call Tab in and we look at her trying to figure out what might have happened.  I end up calling my sister Terry, she is MY animal expert. She knows way more about animals than I could ever dream of.  She loves, loves, LOVES animals, plus she works for a vet.  So any questions I have I call her, plus she lives right next door.
Terry comes down and yep it is what we thought, Zyphr was hit by a car.  Thankfully she wasn't hurt badly, terry says it looks like she got caught between the wheels, which if you are going to get hit, that would be the best way to be hit.  Nothing broken, major road rash on her tummy and scrapes on her back legs.  We doctored her up and gave her some aspirin, prayed and made her comfy.  She is sleeping right now.
We are like that with God, we know what we should do, read our Bibles, pray, go to church and we do but then we get lazy, or busy, or well we just don't feel like it right now.  Or we sort of do those things but only half hearted.  Then when the bad stuff comes in we get all upset and ask God why He let it happen. I'm not talking the really BAD stuff but the little things, a flat tire that took the money you were going to use to go out for lunch on. Or the person who hit the back end of your car and left.  That electric bill that was way higher than expected and now we have put off that weekend trip.  Little stuff that can add up to a really crappy day.
I'm not saying that stuff won't happen if you read your Bible, or pray, or go to church , but I am saying that you will be able to handle it better, with more peace, and wisdom and less stress.  And maybe it might not happen at all.  It is all a matter of doing what you know is the right thing to do.
The Bible puts it this way in Proverbs 10:4, "Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth."

My prayer is that we do not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up.
Thank you for sharing a moment of your time with me.
Have a great ride and make it count!
